Including a pdf or other materials into an email..! (read this)
One common request I get while working on my client’s projects is that they want to upload their pdf lead magnet or other materials into the email marketing platform library.
: Be careful!
I am going to share a story with you to understand why you shouldn’t do that.
I have been subscribed years ago, to receive healthy cooking tips by email. Last year they changed their email marketing platform. I noticed some changes in the new email appearance but did not spend time to find out more.
One day, I reopened an old email with some tips she had sent and to my amazement, I could not access the pdf.
I whispered, what the heck? It was not working and I couldn’t see the file, however, It was fine when I received it.
Fast forward: the issue wasn’t me doing it wrong but the switching from one platform to another!
The reason for sharing this long story with you my friend is because I wanted you to know this: Not putting attention to little details, can confuse your subscribers later.
Are you just getting started with building your email list? Then I suggest you seriously be cautious how you link your materials!
Tip:
Upload your pdf or any other material to Google Drive or Dropbox. Create and copy the file shareable link, and paste it into the text or button of your email content.
This little strategy will play an important role in your subscriber’s experience later on.
